Current situation – Switzerland and international

More and more people are contracting the new coronavirus in Switzerland. And now Switzerland's government has banned all "public and private" events involving over 1,000 people. 

The government has ordered to close the bars, restaurants, sports facilities and cultural space until April 19. Only businesses providing essential goods – such as grocery stores, bakeries, and pharmacies – are to remain open. Banks and post offices will also be open. 

We can only stop the coronavirus and prevent our health care system from overwhelmed if we all take care of our responsibility seriously and stay at home.


In Switzerland 16,176 peoples are tested positive for coronavirus test and 373 people died because of it till 31/03/2020.

The Federal Council's highest priority is to protect the public.

People at especially high risk of becoming seriously ill. 

The western cantons of Vaud and Geneva have the most infections of any Swiss canton, with 2,700 and 2,100 respectively - approximately a third of the country's total cases.

In total, 48 people have died in Vaud and 27 in Geneva due to the virus.
